so today my blood sugar briefly dipped to 135. other than that its been around 300 ALL DAY. wtf? i've changed the insulin twice, but not my infuion set which i now realize is probably the culprit.
anyway after seeing dark knight, i was at 400. I got home and took and injection of 6 units. two hours later, cozmo said my blood sugar at 230 was too long for the IOB and told me to take 42g of carbs, which i did. THen its back to 300. wtf? correct with pump...still 300 1.5 hrs later. wtf?
ok, so now im paying for not changing the infusion set when i should've. Anyway, I figure, I'll bolus 3 units and go to bed hoping to at least wake up under 200.
Now here is the real "wtf"....
i jab the needle in my abs and it is a bit of a dull pain. Then I go to inject the insulin and the pain amplifies AND shoots all throuhtout my abdomen. I had to pull out the needle having only injected about 1 unit. WTF!?
its now 3:30am....

blood pressure
Blood pressure reading taken at the CVS in Silver Spring 6/1/08:
145/74
pulse: 70ish
holy crap!
It being my birthday this weekend, I kind of went on a salt binge this weekend ... even eating eat straight from the bottle (hey - it was gourmet salt). Hopefully this represents an anomaly.
I'll keep checking and hopefully recording here. I might do a week of not adding salt to anything and see what happens.
HISTORY:
Stopped adding salt to food around Feb2008.
Started having episodes of light-headed, faint feeling, and dizziness -- particularly when standing up.
Dr Aleo determined it was due to sudden drop in BP when standing (although the reverse was indicated when tested in his office). Recommend "liberalizing" salt intake.
Started salting food again.... no more episodes.

My mind is playing tricks on me
As someone who frequently lacks the proper amount of sleep, my brain is disposed to make mistakes. For instance, I pour milk on my cereal and rather than return the milk to the fridge, I put it in the pantry. Today, I found my glucose meter sitting in the trash can. hmmm.
